Chassis updates to Honda and Yamaha, Ducati Make Electronic Upgrade at Sepang test

Honda and Yamaha are likely to try out a new chassis on the second volume of the pre-season test held at Sepang from tomorrow. They try to solve the chatter problem in the development of their 1000cc motor. While the Ducati will test electronic devices for drivers in their factory team.

"The new Bridgestone tires are designed to produce heat more quickly to avoid accidents caused by cold tires have become a scourge in the 2011 MotoGP season". Unfortunately, it also triggered a new tire vibration problem (chattering) who complained of by some Honda and Yamaha.
By Shuhei Nakamoto, the issue will be a priority in the test episode of the second Honda, and Honda boss said: "The problem of chatter triggered by several things and usually you have to change the stiffness of the frame, wheel or forknya, or even all of them. Not easy to solve that problem because we do not know why the bike vibrates like that. "
"Casey did not like the new tire specifications due to chattering. Our number one priority is to complete the chatter and we do not have a solution, Chatter can be very difficult to resolve, sometimes it will be a mysterious problem.
Addressing this problem, Yamaha team boss Wilco Zeelenberg explains: "The new tire is safer with a lot more grip. But the chatter problem faced by all teams, we need to finish it, but it takes time because the bike is different dynamic. This problem is triggered by a combination of tires and new engine. You try to solve it with a different chassis rigidity and other solutions, but the problem is very difficult. To change the chassis is constantly in order to solve the problem, you could lose steering feel or other positive points. "
Not much of a problem with chattering and Valentino Rossi seems to have developed resistance to these problems, the Ducati team to focus on electronic fix that will get updated to be tried by Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden at the Sepang test Part.2. Last week, Filippo Preziosi had the opportunity to supervise the private test at Jerez with Ducati satellite rider, namely Hector Barbera and Karel Abraham and test rider Franco Battaini.
Filippo Preziosi said: "We are lucky because we had three days of tests with very good weather. That made us able to do much work. With Franco, we continue to conduct the planned test program during the winter, try some electronic aspects that remain will be the material of our work at Sepang with pemabalap manufacturer. I think we found some interesting things which we will test with Vale and Nicky in Malaysia, where we also set up to keep working on the motor. Since we had rented the track in Jerez, we also offer the rider from our satellite team to try and work on the set up of each motor. "
While Valentino Rossi chrew-chief, Jerry Burgess confirmed that the list of the top job will be done in particular Valentino Rossi Ducati is the electronic motor that bersasis GP12 aluminum twin-spar and is believed to have a change in position enginenya. Currently Ducati has some unfinished homework like-acceleration that has been complained of by Rossi and Hayden.
JB said: "We want to close the gap a little and we were not far from the Yamaha rider. There will be some electronic updates, but I do not involve myself too much because the Ducati is a company and the people of Italy, so it's better to ask the Valentino and 'group'.
"Valentino aware of what Yamaha has developed and what we have on the Ducati. Now we have a motor that can be tried Valentino so we will work on power-delivery and traction-control. We have the freedom to work on from here so the electronic engine and power management is likely to be our priority. "
